A New Paradigm Of HOPE For America

A New Paradigm Of HOPE For America

In the aftermath of Election2016, the starting point for restoring the ideals that the people of America represent is the acceptance of WHAT IS. Then, in the very next breath, say to yourself: “And here is what I AM going to do about it.” To set it in motion, share your next step with family and friends. The following is an excerpt from a letter I received this morning. I was thinking similar thoughts, perhaps you were too. The one change I made is shown in ITALICS below. Robby Mook writes: The dust is still settling from Tuesday’s election, and we don’t have all the answers yet. But for now, here are a few things to consider: Run for office. If we’ve learned anything from our candidate, it’s that the best way to make change is simply to go out and do it. Get involved in a local or municipal race, whatever it takes to be that change you want to see in your community. Get involved in your community in other ways. Join a board, help plan community days, volunteer with local progressive groups. Rise Women Rise. Democrats across the country need you now more than ever. They need your votes, if you live in their districts, and they also need your time and your skills to keep going. Support women and girls. Reach out to the women and girls in your family and other circles and let them know that you value and support them. Ask them what their dreams are — then help them get there however you can. Promote love and kindness where you live. Hillary has lived her life with the words...
Learn To Lead from the Inside Out

Learn To Lead from the Inside Out

A person’s character is defined by their habits (or lack of habits). When you structure your day with a habit that includes goal setting, and then set up time to  focus on a chosen goal without distraction, you unlock the potential to express yourself fully in the direction you have chosen.   When these chosen, daily habits are linked together, you then discover that you can live the life you’ve always DREAMED of, every day! To change your life, chose to change your daily habits so that they keep you focused on the life you want to live. It’s that simple! So here are some insights that you may find helpful on your journey inward. 1. Conscious breathwork is good. Slowing down the breathing brings many body/mind benefits, including increased mindfulness, good digestion, and stress reduction. 2. Lucid dreaming is good. Using this dream-induced deeply relaxed state as a “discovery” space lets ideas and possibilities arise into your neocortex without judgement. It by-passes the “critic” which wants to judge everything as right or wrong, good or bad. What emerges, arises without judgement in that moment. 3. Yoga nidras rest on lucid dreaming and dream analysis. You are invited to “live your dreams.”    By contrast, 10TRAITS Leadership development is based on the development of habits that can be informed by a lucid, dream-like state, but not living our dreams. Here’s why:  Dreams are actually a kaleidoscope of images, emotions, and experiences that have accumulated over a lifetime. They emerge randomly, sometimes comic like, sometimes fearful, and also emerge more often if we have gone to bed thinking about them (a person, place, experience, etc.). When we focus on analyzing these random connections, we...
Overstressed? Need A Good Night’s Sleep?

Overstressed? Need A Good Night’s Sleep?

Dear Alexia, My friend is facing serious Insomnia, what can she do? She is really suffering. – RK Dear RK: What is your friend’s age? If a senior, it could be a natural reduction of melatonin due to aging. Melatonin supplements are sold over the counter in the US. If your friend is not a senior, here are some possible causes: (1) Too much stress? Too much stress at home? With relationships? Or in the workplace? The FIX: Your friend may want to create a habit of reading something inspirational that relaxes their “thinking” mind before bedtime; or read self-help articles or books for guidance. They can also create simple rituals that automatically relax the mind such as meditation, light yoga stretches,  writing in a journal, or making a “to do” list in order to empty the mind before sleep. (2) Too much light? If your friend spends too much time on a mobile phone or computer before bedtime, the light from the screen can over stimulate the pineal gland (some people call it “the third eye”) The  FIX: Turn off electronics at least 1-hour before bedtime. Place well-lit digital clocks and other electronics away from the bed. Use an eye-shade to block out any light while she sleeps. Notice where electric outlets, chargers, and transformers are – inside and outside the house – in relation to where the bed is placed. (3) Buy GABA (500mg). GABA – a natural neurotransmitter – is an amino acid, a natural relaxant, and is the only one of 20 that our body uses that relaxes the muscles and the “thinking mind.” GABA capsules...

More Women In Business Leadership Means More $$$ Money

As we settle into Autumn, with colorful Fall leaves vying for “BEST of show,” I made a short list of upcoming changes facing us humans, as we begin to make room on Planet Earth for more women on top, robots in the boardroom, and greener leaner communities. One could say, this is a trend watch with a focus sex, money, and what happens when we unleash the untapped power of women. In my talks on 10 traits transforming society and the workplace, I remind audiences that women now represent the largest untapped resource in the world.
